Get geared up to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival Hong Kong style. While neon is the glow most associated with our city, at this time of year lanterns and fire dragons become our favorite form of light.
Brighter than most will be Victoria Park in Causeway Bay at the Lee Kum Kee Lantern Wonderland where bigger is better -- a Guinness World Record attempt with a lantern that measures 37 meters long and 14 meters wide.
In Tai Hang there will be another explosion of light and color, as the Tai Hang Fire Dragon dances its way through the streets. A part of China’s cultural heritage, the 67-meter-long smoky, flaming beast, studded with 72,000 incense sticks, will put on quite the spectacle along with 300 performers.
