Security personnel are already in place at Hong Kong’s IFC mall more than 48 hours ahead of the official opening of the city’s first Apple store this Saturday.
Long lines are anticipated with thousands of Apple fans and curious shoppers eyeing the promise of discount prices and promotions on offer to the first group of consumers to hit the store. That and the added bonus of bragging rights for the first few into the new store.
The 20,000 square feet Apple store at the IFC in Central district will be the company’s fifth in China.
Apple launched its first store in China in 2008 and now has two stores in Beijing, as well as two in Shanghai.
