Norman Foster: even if you don't instantly recognize the name, chances are you've passed his work every day.
In Hong Kong, the lion-guarded HSBC Main Building in Central and the airport at Chek Lap Kok are his best known projects. He also designed Beijing Capital International Airport, one of the largest buildings on the planet.
Properly titled Baron Foster of Thames Bank, the 76-year-old award-winning architect's work in China and Hong Kong hasn't ended yet. His Kai Tak Cruise terminal is due to open in 2013, and his City Park design for the much-delayed West Kowloon Cultural District project was selected by the board of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority earlier this year.
